RCUCF case study: North Bay Fire Relief Fund
Following the Tubbs Fire, RCU leaders made the quick decision to start the North Bay Fire Relief Fund in partnership with State Senator Mike McGuire and The Press Democrat, which ultimately raised and distributed over $32 million in just 4 months. Being proactive and prepared allowed RCU to respond quickly to support our Members and community—and allowed us to continue to be there when we were needed most.

Below is a video that captures our impact in the aftermath of the wildfire. It tells the story of how we supported the physical, mental, and financial well-being of our team members, Members, and communities during the 2017 Tubbs Fire and its aftermath. The video was produced by the Filene Research Institute, a credit union and consumer finance think tank.
